In Search of Slow Darkness

Today, there are three sections of "General Optical Sciences," which is often my home when giving a talk. I find these sessions to be a lot of fun because the topics of the talks are mixed, so you can learn about a lot of different types of ideas in a single session.
I missed a talk (that I heard later was phenomenally interesting) about "Slow darkness." I will definitely look up some references when I get home.
There was a good mix from the theoretical such as Kevin Webb's work about negative forces on optical media, derived from Maxwell's equations, to the experimental and computational such as Kimberly Reichel's excellent talk about coupling between terahertz waveguides.
