Artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) are terms used almost interchangeably in a wide range of contexts related to optics and photonics. Optics helps enable AI, and AI can enhance optical applications.
This panel discussion will address the challenges and opportunities around the use of AI and other innovative approaches specific to optical design, including those that will be discussed in the conference theme program. While the theme program will feature technical presentations of innovative AI and ML techniques, the aim of this exhibit floor discussion will be to bring clarity to the overall field, highlight similarities and differences among approaches, and consider some of the changes that AI will bring to the field and careers in optical design.
The format will feature speakers from the conference theme program and others in an interactive Q&A format, including questions from the audience.
Come to listen and join in the discussion.
