Modes of Presentation

Oral Sessions

The presentation times for oral sessions are as follows: contributed presentations are 15 minutes each, invited talks are 30 minutes, and tutorials are 45 minutes. Each presentation will have a break for questions during the last 2-3 minutes of each presentation.  Oral presenters will be asked during submission to request either an in-person or a virtual presentation.  In-person presentations will be presented onsite at FiO+LS.  Virtual presentations will be given in real time via zoom.  Virtual presenters will be able to interact real-time with the audience of the in-person sessions.  Individuals requesting virtual presentations will also be asked their time preference for a real-time virtual presentation during submission.

Poster Sessions

Poster Sessions are in-person session in which presenters are given the opportunity to present their work through a visual display.  Presenters will be provided with a board to display their presentation and pins to attach their board.  No AV equipment will be provided for poster presenters.  FiO/LS will also feature a virtual poster gallery and all selected authors will be given the opportuntiy to submit a PDF of their poster. All posters will be displayed in gallery view with search features by keyword, topic category, presentation times, and a flag displaying any poster presenters available for real-time communication. FiO + LS is now offering a real-time Virtual Poster Preview Option for all accepted poster presenters. All authors, whether they are presenting their contributed presentation in an in-person or virtual format, will be given the opportunity to present a real-time 3-minute virtual presentation for their poster. The virtual poster preview will be in addition to their scheduled poster presentation. Should your presentation be selected for poster presentation, would you be interested in also presenting a Virtual Poster Preview.

Postdeadline Session

Postdeadline papers are presented as oral presentations during a special session toward the end of the conference. The presentation time will be determined during sessioning, but is generally around 15 minutes each, including questions. The purpose of postdeadline papers is to give participants the opportunity to hear new and significant material in rapidly advancing areas. Only those papers judged to be truly excellent and compelling in their timeliness are accepted for postdeadline presentation. If you believe your work meets these requirements, you are encouraged to submit a postdeadline paper.
